Most Valuable Player

Maddux Madsen (Sr. Lehi; C, P): The team leader on both sides of the set as well as on the mound, he made everyone around him better. “The leadership he brought was pretty special,” Lehi coach Jason Ingersoll said. “He’s a D-1 quarterback for a reason. When it comes to baseball, few players have its versatility. He did it for us everywhere he played. Madsen had 46 hits including 11 doubles, four triples and four homers. He had a .455 batting average with 42 RBI and a .762 hitting percentage, all team highs. He also led in strikeouts with 137 and had just one error for the season. He made 12 appearances on the bump and went 8-2 with one stoppage and a 3.42 ERA; he had five strikeouts for each walk and averaged .182 against.

Most Inspirational Player

Dalton Young (Jr. Skyridge; OF, INF, C): “He led the team in many ways,” Skyridge coach Ryan Roberts said. “He started and either pitched or hit the 3 hole for us all year. He was our inspirational leader and made great successes at important times. He had 22 total hits, including 10 for extra bases, scored 19 runs and drove in 16 more with a .314 batting average.

All-City Team

tyler ball (Jr. Skyridge; P, INF, OF): Nine laps on the mound with a 2.68 ERA and 58 strikeouts. Had 18 hits including four home runs, 18 RBIs and 19 posted runs.

Jackson Brousseau (Jr. Lehi; P, INF): Had a 6-0 record in nine pitching appearances with a 2.08 ERA. Had a .385 batting average with 33 RBI and 19 runs scored.

Colby Carter (Sr. Skyridge; P, INF): Led the Falcons on the mound with a 4-1 record and 1.92 ERA in nine appearances. Battered .431 with a team record 31 hits.

Jaxon Christensen (Sr. Lehi; OF, INF): Fifth in Utah with 28 stolen bases; hit .352 including 12 hits for extra bases with six home runs, 26 RBIs and 28 runs.

Nick Holland (Sr. Skyridge; P, OF): Stole a team-high 14 bases while hitting .404. Three wins and a stoppage on the bump, only one error on the pitch.

Jake Olsen (Jr. Lehi; SS, P): Batted .429 with 42 hits, 40 RBIs and 40 runs scored; first with 0.528 on-base percentage. Five saves in nine laps in succession.

McGwire Madsen (Jr. Lehi; INF, P): 48 points scored; walked 33 times and struck out just six in 130 plate appearances. Also 21 stolen bases, two saves.

Zach Evans (Sr. Lehi; CF, INF, P): The title game hero hit .329 with 25 runs and 19 RBI. Also eight pitching appearances with two wins and three saves.

Boston Bingham (Jr. Lehi; C, LF, 1B): Hit six home runs and 12 doubles on 28 hits; .308 batting average with 32 RBI and 22 runs scored.

Most Valuable Player

Maci wall (Sr. Lehi; SS): “She led the team in many offensive categories,” said Lehi coach Tim Kennedy. “Her batting average went down a bit during the state tournament, but we wouldn’t have made it without her. She missed half of our 2021 season with an injury and the entire 2020 season was cancelled. So she’s come in huge for us with limited reps for the past two years. Wall had 126 at-bats with a team-high 56 hits, including nine homers and 46 runs scored; also 45 RBI and 21 stolen bases.

Most Inspirational Player

Kenadee Beck (Sr. Lehi; DP, C): “No one worked harder than her,” Kennedy said. “She stayed after practice most days and got some extra work and was out in the field every weekend getting her reps in. She was our dugout leader to keep the girls loud and engaged in the games. .” Beck had a .403 batting average with 48 hits including 19 for added bases plus 41 RBI and 31 runs scored.

Heather Berrett (Sr. Skyridge; P): Falcon Hurler had 100 strikeouts to walk seven in 66.2 innings with a 2.84 ERA and a 10-0 record in 18 appearances.

Sophie Bliss (Fr. Lehi; INF): The young star had 50 hits, nearly half of them for extra bases, including seven homers; hit .442 with 38 RBIs, team highs of 47 runs and 24 stolen bases.

Jamisyn Heaton (Sr. Lehi; INF): Had 54 hits with 17 doubles, two triples and nine homers; leading by an average of 0.474, 46 RBI, base efficiency of 0.549 and hitting percentage of 0.894.

Grace Humes (Sr. Lehi;P): The trailblazing pitcher pitched 31 games including seven completes, two shutouts, one no-hitter and two saves with a 3.53 ERA; averaged one strikeout per inning.

Moki Maughan (Jr. Skyridge; SS): Team leader with a .526 batting average, 50 hits including 13 doubles and a .561 on-base percentage; 25 RBIs and 36 runs; hit only twice.

Irma Medina (So. Skyridge; C): Team-leading 152 strikeouts with seven assists and just three errors; posted a .368 batting average with five home runs, 29 RBIs and 31 runs scored.

Elliott Plewe (Jr. Skyridge; P, OF): Top homers with 10 of 19 extra hits; battered .451 with 36 RBI, the team-high; went 5-2 with one save in 17 trips to the circle.

Taya Tabo (So. Skyridge; INF): Batted .372 with 29 hits including 11 for extra bases; six home runs, 28 RBIs and 18 runs scored; 102 outs with six double plays against three errors.

Brightyn Turner (Sr. Skyridge; CF): Got a perfect fielding percentage. Averaged .385 with 30 hits to give up 27 runs scored and 21 RBI. She was the best cheerleader on the team.
