Fifty-Two Portland State Spring Student-Athletes Win Academic All-Big Sky Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – Fifty-two spring student-athletes from Portland State won academic All-Big Sky honors on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s winners came from the women’s golf (4), men’s tennis (5), women’s tennis (7), men’s outdoor track and field (14), women’s outdoor track and field (15) and softball (7) teams. ) of the Vikings.

Of the 52 Vikings to earn the accolade, 45 finished the spring term with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Five Vikings also finished the spring term with a cumulative GPA of 4.0.

In order to qualify for All-Big Sky Academic Honor, athletes must have: 1) competed in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) at the end of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at their current Big Sky institution.

In total, the 2021-22 academic year saw 149 Viking student-athletes achieve All-Big Sky Academic recognition, including 62 fall, 52 spring, and 35 winter athletes.
