25. Cincinnati Bearcats

24. Penn State Nittany Lions

23. Houston Cougars

22. BYU Cougars

21. Demon Deacons of Wake Forest

20. Oklahoma State Cowboys

CBS Sports: “The season went south when QB Sean Clifford lost to Iowa. Clifford is back, which could be the difference in the always tough Big Ten East. James Franklin – 11-11 the past two seasons – has safety with a new 10-year contract.”

247Sports Shooting: After back-to-back undefeated regular seasons, Cincinnati is back in the top 25 in the preseason, but this time as the second-best team in the Group of Five behind Houston. … The ACC is filled with top quarterbacks this fall and Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman is one of the standouts. Hartman is criminally underrated from a national perspective. This team’s wide receiver group is also deadly. After nearly winning the conference last season, there is still some business to be done in Winston-Salem for the Demon Deacons. … Oklahoma State’s preseason love is heavily skewed as the spring exits among various far-too-early rankings. The Cowboys cracked the top 15 for 247Sports after nearly winning the Big 12 last season, but opinions on Mike Gundy’s team were not unanimous.
